SURVEY - Improving Community Services for Children and Young People in Dorset

Improving Community Services for Children and Young People in Dorset

We are reviewing community physical health services for children and young people provided in the community.

This includes primary and community care as well as community hospital services for 0-25 year olds.

The first stage is to find out what is being done well and what could be done better.

We have developed a survey for young people aged 16-25 and parents/carers of children and young people aged 0-25.

In addition we would value feedback from local stakeholders who have an interest in the provision of health services for children/young people.

We will also be seeking the views of under 16 year olds in a variety of ways including at schools and youth forums etc and also listening to children, young people and their parents and carers at events.

We would be very grateful for your help in promoting our view seeking with the public and also your colleagues.

Our website is www.dorsetsvision.nhs.uk/beheard where you can find the questionnaires and the opportunity to register your interest to stay involved. Please direct people to this site.

“Improved Access

We are working to improve access to appointments for our patients, in particular at evenings and weekends. If you would like to be offered one of these appointments, please ask your surgery. These appointments may be at a different site e.g.  the Urgent Treatment Centre at Bournemouth Hospital.”

Primary Care update from the Dorset CCG

Plan on a page - Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group

In response to a number of requests from Patient Participation Group (PPG) Chairs the CCG has produced a simple “plan on a page” to illustrate the key stages of the primary care public engagement work.

When you are unable to book an appointment please bear in mind the number of patients who do not attend a booked appointment - this greatly contributes to you being unable to book an appointment.  If you have an appointment booked and find yourself unable to attend PLEASE LET US KNOW!!!

Accident & Emergency attendances where the patient left without being seen

This poster shows the cost for the 12 month period April 2017-March 2018 for patients who attend the hospital A&E (emergency department) but either do not then wait to be seen or refuse treatment. This information is provided by Dorset CCG.

This page is updated regularly with news and events taking place in the local area
